On this project I have worked in the Level Designer and Creative Director capacity. It was my junior year project, and it was the first project I have worked on in under the realities of the pandemic - fully remotely. I was on a fairly large team, 13 strong, and was responsible for the creative direction of the project, as well as level design. I did provide input on the other areas of design, but most of the actual work there was delegated to other team members. We've had to pivot the creative direction for this project at the break of the year due to decreased productivity connected to the pandemic and the difficulties the team was experiencing adjusting to it. We've had to cut down the amount of enemy archetypes we were planning to have in the final game, as well as reduce the emphasis on combat encounters. I'd be happy to tell you more about this project and the challenges I've overcome through its course.
Below is a brief summary of what I've done on the project.
Developed the original documentation for the core game concept.
Coordinated with the producer to keep the theme focused and consistent.
Managed and evolved the original game concept in response to emerging challenges and circumstances with a team of 13.
Directed the development and implementation of the game mechanics.
Built all of the campaign levels of the game.
